Near MP 43 is the turn for Palm Springs.
It is not recommended to camp near water
sources in the desert (crucial for the animals),
but there are good hideouts and campsites
all along the road.

MOUNTAIN PALM SPRINGS
Between MP 47 and 48
Mountain Palm Springs primitive campground.
BOW WILLOW CAMPGROUND
South of MP 48
Developed campground $7 fee.
There is water, but it needs to be boiled
before human consumption.

Road to Canyon Sin Numbre
CANYON SIN NUMBRE
South of MP 50 is Canyon Sin Nombre.
Following this road east takes you through
some of the more hardcore sections of the
Badlands. There are some great camp areas
down in the canyon.
CARRIZO BADLANDS LOOKOUT
Between MP51 and 52 is Carrizo Badlands Lookout.
Some great views. You are within view of the road,
so not the best camping area, but in bad weather it
is good to stay near the paved road(S2).
WEST DOLOMITE MINE TRAIL
MP 53 - If you go east on the West Dolomite
Mine Trail, it winds it's way back about 2 miles
into the hills with nice camp areas along the
way.
If you go west at MP 53 is Jojoba
Wash.
At MP 54 or 55 is an immigration
checkpoint.
If you camp within view of the check point,
expect some immigration officers to ask what's up.
They have always been nice and when seeing you
are innocently camping, all is good.
