Crane Prairie is a 4,940-acre reservoir
located in the Cascade Mountains.
There are 24 miles of shoreline.

Road #4285 is a sometimes rough dirt road
about 3 miles long that connects between
Hwy.42 and Hwy.46(Cascade Lakes Hwy)
There are some good camp areas on the
edge of Crane Prairie Reservoir.

Take Road#4285 for 2.2 miles
This narrow spur road winds and twists
about a 1/4 mile down to the shoreline
of Crane Prairie Reservoir. There are
about 1/2 dozen dispersed campsites
with great mountain views.

Road#4200/800 is between Road#4285 and
Road #4270 (towards Crane Prairie Lodge)
Road#800 is about 1/4 mile long with several
nice campsites with the sounds of the river
raging in the background.

FIRE RESTRICTIONS
It is you responsibility to know
what fire restrictions are in place
Required at primitive campgrounds
Axe, Shovel, and 5 gallons water
Also consider a Fire Extinguisher...

DIRECTIONS:
From Road#42
Turn on Road #4285
(Browns Mountain Junction / Crane Prairie Dam)
Go past and Browns Mountain Boat Ramp and
there are some roads to the right leading to some
good campsites along Crane Prairie Reservoir.

From Road#46 / Cascade Lakes Highway
1 mile north from the Jct. of Road#46 and #42.
It is unmarked from this direction.
(Near Milepost 51)

ROAD CONDITIONS:
Rough gravel surface
Spur roads to campsites are narrow dirt surface
Not recommended for RVs

$1.25 in quarters for 3 minutes.
Showers and Laundry at Twin Lakes Lodge.

Drinking water at Rock Creek Campground
on Cascade Lakes Highway / FS Road#46
Hand pump next to the fish cleaning station
is a deep source well and the water is cool,
clean and refreshing.

Just north of Osprey Point Trailhead
is the historic Billy Quinn gravesite.
