Storing Food and Other items
It is your responsibility to keep all food,
coolers, and items with any kind of smell (such as
toothpaste and hairspray) in a closed bear-proof
box day and night.
Bears are Cleaver
Never leave items with any odor unattended, even
briefly. Immediately put trash in bear-proof trash
cans. Empty food containers left in cars or tents
invite property damage and / or a fine. Coolers and
similar containers are not bear-proof.
If You See a Bear
Never feed or approach bears. Scare them away by
making loud noises and throwing rocks. Report bear
sightings or food storage violations to a Park
Ranger.
A Fed Bear Can Mean a Dead
Bear
Each year bears are killed when they become
destructive and potentially dangerous. This
behavoir is caused by access to human food
