If you entered from Hwy 9, a couple miles up the road you will see a cement launch pad surrounded by a fence. This was the site where they used to launch live monkeys from cannons. You can do an internet search and find out the details. DIRECTIONS: If beginning on Hwy 9 Turn north on Mesa Road. If beginning on Kolob Terrace Road Turn at Smith Mesa Road. They are the same road, different names. You will find cool. crisp drinking water at Kolob Canyon Visitor Center, I-15, exit 40 The water pump is in the parking lot.
