Breckenridge Road is a single lane road
that hugs the mountain for 10 miles of
steep upgrades. The road is littered with
landslides and boulders... extreme weather
conditions... you don't see too many people.

Your windshield gets coated with yellow.
It is big sized pollen, not an allergy problem???

OTHER:
The last 1/2 mile to Breckenridge Campground is Road 28S07, which is a dirt surface that is subject to the whims of Mother Nature. Rain or snow could render it impassible to passenger cars. RV's not recommended on Breckenridge Road 28S06

Bear Tracks

We had planned to camp near O'Brien Springs and had found a good place to park on Road 28S19. Going for a walk we noticed these fresh bear tracks... and they were extra large. We did our photos, but it was decided to move a couple miles up the mountain to Breckenridge Campground.

Buried Garbage
Buried garbage at campsite #5

Burying your trash sounds reasonable,
but the animals will dig it up. Garbage
that was buried at site#5. Maybe it was
with good intentions combined with stupidity...
but they buried it right in the middle of a
leveled tent pad.

Camped here March 2-4, 2006
March 2006 produced snow and blizzard conditions. Had food and water for several days and the worst case scenario would be to make a sled and ski down the mountain.
