Dispersed and Primitive Camping

Calm and relaxing best describes this camp spot.
Never saw another car or person. McCully Forks
Campground is a fee area, but if you continue
down road #900, there are several great dispersed
campsites along the creek.

Natural Spring Water
Junction with Natural Mountain Spring

Natural Spring Water
Natural Mountain Spring...
Gold Center Spring or Blue Spring???

There is also a natural spring about 6 miles west of
McCully Fork Campground, between mile post 8 and 9.
It is easy to drive by without seeing it. Look for a sharp
curve in the road with a pullout (above photo) and a
single lane dirt road. There is a stone column with water
flowing out of a pipe. Pure and clean... just about perfect.

On Highway 7 near the junction of Hwy.245 near Phillips
Lake there is a ghost town... makes for some good photos.

In 2005 we were over on Hwy.395, near the Ritter junction,
searching for mushrooms when a giant owl landed near us.
This thing was a monster, standing at over 4' tall, he sat
there and just watched what we were doing. We got some
photos, but it was evening and poor lighting...

Another note... we took the road towards Ritter. Before
Ritter Hot Springs, took the paved road going north. In
the fields along the road were 100's of deer. So many deer
you couldn't imagine, it was incredible.

DIRECTIONS:
Between Sumpter and Granite, Oregon.
About 2 miles west of Sumpter
Turn right at McCully Fork Campground.
Stay on road #900.
It goes about a mile with campsites along the creek.

Camped here May 2005
Camped here Sept 9-10, 2005
